Stratford Station is a key gateway to the Olympic Park. By 2012 Stratford will be the best connected of the urban centres surrounding London. A fleet of 140 mph Javelin trains will take 25,000 passengers an hour from St Pancras to Stratford in just 7 minutes and journey times to Gravesend from 2009 will be just 17 minutes

Run by Southeastern Railway the express service between London St Pancras and Kent is set to be introduced in December 2009.
Called High Speed 1, this line has a new fleet of trains able to accelerate rapidly to 140mph, slashing the current journey times from Gravesend into London from 42 minutes to 24 minutes. During the on peak period there will be 3 trains an hour from Gravesend to St Pancras and off peak there will be 2 trains an hour.
